As you said, your father was content in working to provide for his family, taking the appropriate time to rest when available, as well as having a rich inner life. Living this "simple life" as you put it, gave him both a purpose and great satisfaction I am sure.

In realizing that you have been blessed with the talent of being a musician, philosopher, motivational speaker, as well as father, you also recognize the responsibilities that come with it, which as you said can be very stressful. It's like that cheesy line in the first Spider-Man movie, "with great power comes great responsibility". Instead of finding ways in which our talents have brought us more worry and work, we should be grateful that we were gifted with those talents in the first place.

Ultimately the meaning of life is to live it and you are doing a marvelous job at it.

Namaste.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18011806741924174201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6199853211454757595.post-74661577095022031322014-03-22T08:49:13.079-07:002014-03-22T08:49:13.079-07:00Sorry Peter. Bren Thomas was going to be my pen name as an author but I have recently decided that it's okay to be true to myself and not be anonymous in my writings about addiction. Being open about myself is part of my purpose in helping others so Bren Thomas is Brenda Panneton and I now just need to figure out how to lose this other identity on my gmail??Bren Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11363998640356954627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6199853211454757595.post-74282269286330179692014-03-22T08:42:42.652-07:002014-03-22T08:42:42.652-07:00Hi Peter. I used to be a wonder woman when my kids were small! I did it all and did it well! Okay, so I could, I was able to do that, but that was for others. Today, as an artist, I've learned when the song or the painting or the book is done which to me is the same as good enough. It says all that it needs to say in that moment and I can let it go. Put the brush down so to speak. I do agree with you that when we set our purpose on pleasing our soul while at the same time serving the world, we are golden, so much more than good enough. It's getting real with our motives that let us know if it's good enough yet I think. Bren Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11363998640356954627noreply@blogger.com
